Like you, I am an “xpharmarep”.  I know what it’s like to work in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry.  I faced the same challenges and frustrations.  To say the least, it is very disrupting to be laid off.

Layoffs are a Constant in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Sales Industry!

 

As a pharma and medical sales rep for over 15 years, I lost count the number of times my companies realigned, right sized, laid off, downsized, changed territories, and severed staff.

To them, it was about numbers.  To you and me, it wasn’t about numbers; it is our lives, our families, our income, our careers that they disrupted and sent upheaval into.

So much change is going on and will continue to go on in the pharmaceutical industry.  This is especially true for pharmaceutical and medical sales representatives, trainers, marketing persons, and managers.  If you haven’t been laid off, you most likely have faced the possibility of lay offs, or may be seriously considering leaving the industry.

I found my why – like many of us – the hard way.  After working in a widely varied range of businesses and industries, my career and professional path eventually led me to several important areas, including directing college students and youth into success, medical sales and marketing, and team development and successes.
